| Sorry I've been out
of touch for awhile. Like George Major, I too was having computer
and scanner difficulties. Anyhow,
here's my report from Palmetto Point Homecoming, the weekend of May
27th.... I only caught Friday night's festivities as I came down with an
AWFUL case of food poisoning from eating sea urchins (They don't even
taste good - wouldn't recommend them!!!) But I will put pictures on
my food page for you all to see!
The Palmetto Point homecoming site on the beach
was beautiful and festive both during the day and at night. The
Honorable Perry Christie (Prime Minister of the Bahamas) attended the
festivities Friday night and danced a little to the Rake 'n Scrape.
The Brilanders played their music and then Geno D. joined them. I
must admit, I got up on stage and danced, couldn't help it!!! For
pictures of the Brilanders at homecoming, see the music link on the left.
The next night KB got up on stage and
performed. Sorry to say, I missed this due to illness. But I
heard there was a huge crowd.
Pineapple fest was held the weekend of June
4. The days were hot and the nights were rainy. Nita was
supposed to perform on Friday night, however she was rained out, so
Eleuthera Express played well into the evening in her place - and I've
been told the crowd was dancing in the rain.
Everyone get ready for the next homecoming
celebrations.... Bluff and Savannah Sound's are the weekend of July
9. I will be there and I will take photos!
