Tue 10/5/2004 Hi All.  I'm writing from Tarpum Bay today.  I had a wonderful day!!!  This morning I visited with Kevin Cooper of Rock Sound.  Kevin is a very talented, world renowned impressionistic artist.  He shows his paintings all over the world.  I had the opportunity to visit his home and garage studio where he paints.  The scent of oil paints and canvas wafted thru the air while American folk music played in the background.  He is currently working on a sizeable piece of palm trees and beach.  He pulled some other fabulous finished pieces out for us to enjoy.  Look for a web page on his works coming soon.... Then, this evening we attended a reception in Rock Sound for the Mission House.  The Antiquities Monuments and Museums Corporation donated $25,000 to assist with this worthwhile cause.  The South Eleuthera Mission House will consist of a museum for the preservation of historical documents and artifacts, a library and resource center available to all for reference and learning, a computer room and training program offering students and individuals of all ages opportunities to improve themselves, and an environmental area to help Bahamians learn about the ecology of their islands and the preservation and protection of their natural resources for future generations.  The reception was quite well attended by the community and a light dinner was served afterwards.  It's a great thing to see the community come together and support endeavors such as the Mission House.
