07-October-2007	Wemyss Bight Homecoming and Briland Regatta are coming up this weekend... beginning October 11. The weather is getting cooler and it should be a good weekend. Today is quite breezy. The mosquitoes have been horrendous! I guess it's because of all the rain. Farmers are getting their fields ready for planting - soon we should be seeing plenty of tomatoes, okra, pumpkins... I stopped by Papa George's the other day. He's now selling Meat Patties - these home made patties are filled with curry and either chicken, conch or beef. They're actually quite delicious! There's also a new place in Rock Sound called Aunt Ed's. It's located at the end of Fish Road - just before turning onto the Northside road. The menu is American and Bahamian and quite good. Example dishes and prices are as follows: Stew Conch or Fish - $9.00, Chuicken, Mutton, or Sheep Tongue Souse - $7-9.00, Conch Chowder - cup $2.50 or bowl $5.00, Pork Chops, Chicken, Conch or Grouper Fingers snack $7-9.00, Conch Fritters, Chicken Wings,... Steak dinner with mushroom sauce $10.00, Grouper Fingers Dinner $9.00, Lobster Dinner - seasonal price - and a variety of desserts. You can eat in or take away.
