Tue 12/28 The wind is still blowing like a small hurricane out of the north east.  The waves are really kicking up on the ocean side - I haven't spoken to anyone crossing the bridge, but I bet it's a harrowing experience!  I went north today and had a delicious breakfast with the owners of Dolcevita Restaurant in Rainbow Bay.  Got some pictures of the waves off my property.  Bought some booze at Burrow's Liquors for tomorrow's party.  And... am searching for conch for my salad tomorrow.  This is going to be a hard find, because none of the fisherman are getting out.  I may have to come up with plan B for my covered dish tomorrow!  We may also need to go to plan B for party location. If the wind is still blowing it will be hard to have a bon fire on the beach - and we'll get sand blasted.  Plan B is to relocate to the pavillion on Cupid's Cay.  Luckily I have found coconuts (not me actually - but a friend did) for the gin and coconut water.  Yeah!  I have also started gathering the questions and prizes for the next contest!  Stayed tuned for that.

Mon 12/27 Arrived yesterday in Eleuthera.  Flew Lynx.  Great, quick flight - heck of a tailwind.  We made it in 47 minutes.   The wind has been HOWLING and the temperature is a bit cool for my taste - but it's still beautiful to be here.  I did not make it to junkanoo - not even sure if they held it this morning since it was cold, windy and rainy.

Today was the Tarpum Bay Survivor Challenge.  This wild game is hosted by Johnny Krupp and family from Chicago.  There were 10 teams entered, consisting of young and old, American and Bahamian.  Each team had between 2 and 5 members.  The teams met at EB's Bar and threw darts at a map in order to receive their "challenge".  The task could be something like spear a lobster, or find 10 perfect sand dollars, or kayak racing other teams - where you had to first locate the buried paddles in the sand...  They could also end up having to spin the wheel, which required them to do additional tasks.   The evening was topped off with a dinner banquet consisting of barbeque chicken, mac 'n cheese, conch salad, and Papa George's pizza.

Mon 12/20 Hooray!  I finally got my site back up and running!  I had some hardware glitches that kept me from updating the site.  Well, I'm leaving in 6 days to return to Eleuthera.  Count on daily updates and pictures.  I will be attending Rock Sound's Junkanoo on 12/27 at 4am, and I will try to go north to Briland for their junkanoo at 6pm the same day.    I will be hosting a party on Club Med beach on Wednesday 12/29.  The party begins at 5pm, but the fun begins long before that as we locate drift wood for the bon fire and for a buffet table and mix up our Bahamian concoctions.  Hope to see you there!  It's been unseasonably cold there, so make sure you bring sweaters and long pants.

I will be spending more of this time on my property marking lines for excavation of my garage.  I have my preliminary plans back from my architect in Nassau (love this guy!).  This time I will make sure to get lots of pictures of poison wood to post on my site so that I (and everyone else) can learn to recognize and avoid it!!!
